Washington University School of Law arms its students and alumni with relevant resources to advance their career and achieve their professional goals.
Career education is a fundamental element of @WashULaw programs and student experience, as the demand for upskilling, reskilling and lifelong learning changes our workforce. We encourage students to take advantage of our complimentary career services to define their professional preferences, areas of expertise and personal motivations.
Virtual Career Center
Upon enrollment, students gain access to the Virtual Career Center, an online, self-paced, foundation course with approximately 10 e-learning instructional modules, short video lectures and job search tools for career planning and education. Through the career center, students can focus on:

Résumé writing and curriculum vitae reviews
Salary negotiation preparation
LinkedIn profile development
Cover letter writing
Students can also complete career engagement exercises and connect with a coach if needed. The foundation course is available to current students and alumni three years beyond graduation.
One-on-One Career Support
Career counseling advisors provide students with personalized career advice. Students can make individual appointments to meet via phone or video conference to receive guidance in managing job searches, preparing for interviews, developing résumés, building a LinkedIn profile, creating a digital portfolio and more.

Information Sessions and Webinars
Throughout the program, students have access to recorded information sessions as well as live webinars from @WashULaw’s Career Services department. Some of these webinars include topics such as résumé building and other program-specific topic areas.

Career Opportunities
Professionals who want to gain legal training to move forward in their careers can earn a Master of Legal Studies (MLS) or MLS in Taxation degree and enter a variety of fields, including:
