Profile
Tove Klovning is a lecturer in law at the law school. She is also the law school’s Foreign/Comparative/International Law Librarian and Washington University’s Sub-Regional Federal Depository Coordinator and EU and MO Depository Coordinator. Klovning often assists researchers with legal research questions relating to foreign law, comparative law, and international law, as well as legal research questions related to the American legal system.
She has written several research guides on American, international, and foreign legal issues and has taught legal research methodology classes since 2002 at Washington University School of Law. She has been a speaker at both U.S. and international conferences and has also taught a research methodology course in the Global Legal Studies Master Program at the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa in Lisbon, Portugal.
Before joining the law school, Klovning worked at the Albert Jenner, Jr. Law Library of the University of Illinois, assisted as a Visiting Research Scholar in the Ombudsman Office at Southern Illinois University, Illinois, was a law clerk intern for the Bergen Circuit Court in Norway, and a legal caseworker in Bergen, Norway. Klovning is multilingual and spent a significant part of her childhood in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Malaysia and in her early twenties she interned for a judge in Malaysia. She is an associate member of the American Bar Association.
Klovning is Norwegian lawyer with a post specialization in American Law from the University of Bergen in Norway who pursued a LL.M. degree and a M.S. degree in library and information science from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in the US.
