Why did you decide to earn your master’s with Washington University School of Law?

I wanted to enhance my knowledge of and familiarity with the U.S. legal system. My job largely centers around influencing and changing U.S. law, so additional legal training was a logical choice. Washington University’s reputation as well as the ease of the online program made @WashULaw a good fit.

What career or personal goals motivated you to pursue a deeper understanding of U.S. legal procedures?

I want to be as effective as I can in my profession. Enhancing my legal training and background was a logical step in my continued learning.

How does this degree fit into your career plan?

This degree fortifies my current career while also giving me the tools and skills to handle future professional challenges.

How do online classes benefit your lifestyle?

I couldn’t do this degree without the online component. I have an extensive travel schedule, and the program allows me to attend classes regardless of where I am. Tuning in to my class from a hotel room is not an unusual experience.

Can you describe what it is like to participate in a law program in an online setting?

It is a little like talking to a large group through FaceTime. It is a live platform, so you must be present and attentive, like a traditional classroom. You become accustomed to how to navigate the screen, where to focus, and how to take notes. After a couple of classes, it becomes second nature.

What is your favorite class?

My favorite class is Negotiation.

How do you see yourself making a difference with your degree?

In the advocacy work I do, I need every tool at my disposal. This degree will allow me to be even more effective in advancing priorities important to my employer.
